Answer: of course. you got hoaxes and rumors from friends, families, etc., too.
But through Google you will be offered thousand results. When you stumble upon Museum of Hoaxes, Snopes, or [a properly written] Wikipedia article, you will know which is hoax and which is not. Hell, you could even add “hoax” to your search term (example: “April fools hoax”) to clarify.
tl;dr: with the internet, you select your information. Not the otherwise.
